Lazerbeam is a TV, radio and podcast production company based in Cardiff, Wales. We make distinctive factual, history and music-based documentaries.

Productions include Black Music Wales with presenter LEMFRECK (BBC Wales), the Hidden Cardiff documentary (BBC Two, Four and Wales), three series of Hidden Wales with Will Millard (BBC Two, Four and Wales), and the BBC Four music documentary Roots, Reggae, Rebellion with MC and activist Akala.

Between them, these have been nominated for an RTS Award and 6 BAFTA Cymru Awards. Black Music Wales won Best Arts award at the 2024 Celtic Media Festival.

In radio, Lazerbeam’s productions include the Radio 4 documentary Generation Grime and the Radio Wales documentary Can Mushrooms Save the World?

An acclaimed BBC Sounds podcast documentary series called Operation Seal Bay was released in December 2024. Produced by the Lazerbeam team, it was nominated for a True Crime Award in 2025.

The podcast has recently been turned into a TV documentary series - produced by Lazerbeam - for an S4C and BBC co-commission.

The two series broadcast in November and December 2025 respectively.
